I have tickets on myself

Tell me the truth…do you think I have ‘tickets’ on myself!!!

Here I was at the Fast Track to Fabulous Breakthrough Boot camp last weekend talking to my Fast Trackers about how I always acknowledged my achievements and that I always congratulated myself for every single achievement that I made…no matter how small.

One of my Fast Trackers Gary exclaimed “You’ve got tickets on yourself…”

As Aussies we have been raised to view this attitude as negative and has given rise to a culture of knocking people that display this behaviour “off their perch” – the Tall Poppy Syndrome.

Interestingly enough, Gary was the highest performer at his workplace & yet received the lowest pay rise. This was not surprising because if Gary thought that having tickets on yourself was ‘bad’ and he didn’t value his performance then why would his employer reward him with a pay rise that was worth his real value?

Gary is absolutely 100% right… I DO have “tickets” on myself. At the completion of my client sessions I will often reflect in amazement as to how perfectly the words just flowed out of my mouth. Verbal gold! I pat myself on the back and marvel at my cleverness.

Well, if I didn’t capture and anchor those moments of my own strength & spirit – who would?

If I didn’t build up my own sense of self to be so strong that nothing that anyone said or did could possibly waiver it…how could I possibly help my clients to believe in themselves?

What is worse? Living a fulfilled life having a positive appreciation of your self worth and acknowledging it OR having negative labels about yourself and soul destroying limiting beliefs. It’s like having tickets for a fabulous round the world holiday or travelling on a road to nowhere.

In my experience, the underlying cause for almost all presenting issues that clients come to see me for is a belief that they are not good enough!

My job is to help my clients shift their belief system so that really believe at their very core that they ARE good enough right now – not later when they lose weight …not later when they get a better job or later when they get a hair transplant or whatever it is they have to do – but right this very second! They are perfect, unique & special RIGHT NOW!

At the end of the weekend, each one of my Fast Trackers had to stand up and announce their pledge.

Gary stood up and proudly said “I have decided that I have tickets on myself. I am going to get a salary that is worth my real value at work”!

This was a massive ‘A-HA’ moment for Gary because his limiting belief, like many other Australians was that it was bad to have ‘tickets’ on yourself. By the end of the weekend, he had a complete mindset shift where he believed that in order for others to appreciate your value, you absolutely MUST HAVE TICKETS ON YOURSELF! Not in an egotistical way but in a genuine belief of your own self worth.

You NEED to tell yourself regularly so that your subconscious mind can receive the message. allowing you to truly believe it.

3 WAYS TO COVER YOURSELF IN TICKETS

  1. Start an ‘Achievements & Magical Moments’ journal & write everything you achieve – no achievement is too small
  2. When you do or say something clever- physically give yourself a pat on the back
  3. Stand in front of the mirror, look yourself in the eye and say something positive about yourself in the “third person”. For example “Helen…You are a legend”!!!!!

GO FORTH & GET TICKETS ON YOURSELF!! C’MON I DARE YOU!
